About Alberta

Alberta is located in western Canada between the provinces of British Columbia to the west, Saskatchewan to the east and the Northwest Territories. The state of Montana of the U.S. touches southern border. Alberta is currently the fastest growing province in Canada with the population of more than three million people primarily inhabiting two large cities of Calgary and Edmonton.

Alberta and British Columbia shares one of the most scenic highways in the world. Alberta has Canada's largest mountain national parks- Jasper National Park and Banff National Park. City of Edmonton on the North has World's largest shopping and entertainment complex.

Beautiful and scenic Lake Louise is located just 2 hours from Calgary, which is also the largest ski area in Canada. The province is full of natural diversity including parklands, natural terrains, grasslands, badlands, wildlands, boreal forests and plains, ancient glaciers, lakes and rivers, and the oldest mountain ranges in North America.

Alberta's diversified ecosystems is also home for hundreds of wildlife species. UNESCO has identified 4 natural spots as World Heritage Sites. Dinosaur Provincial Park is one of the richest place in the world where most dinosaur fossils were discovered.
